Ao Nang is one of the most popular places in Krabi. Thanks to the commercialization of other famous tourist destinations in the area, such as Koh Samui and Phuket, Ao Nang is gaining even more recognition. Despite all the development going on around, Ao Nang maintains its serene beaches in a perfect natural setting while still offering the convenience that tourists seek.

Are you planning to visit Ao Nang? Here are two activities that you absolutely must do:

  1. Spend Time at the Beaches

Unlike the over-commercialized beaches of Phuket, Ao Nang, found in Krabi, offers tranquil beaches. Here, you can find the aptly named Ao Nang Beach along with Nopparat Thara Beach, boasting jade waters, a beautiful coastline, and a cool sea breeze. Together, they create an experience only a paradise can instill in your heart—feelings of peacefulness and happiness.

What are the differences between the two? Ao Nang Beach is well known for its towering limestone cliffs, which gives its unique look. The waters in Ao Nang Beach is also much more shallow than that of Nopparat Thara Beach, making it a perfect place for kids to frolic in the waters. However, Ao Nang also has a little more tourist activity going on the beaches, as the site is slightly more popular.

Nopparat Thara Beach, although having a little less activity, is still known, but more so with the locals. If you’re looking for a more peaceful experience overall, go to Nopparat Thara Beach. If you want something that offers a more beautiful scenic view, head for Ao Nang Beach. Because these two beaches are next to each other, you can just easily walk around to visit both.

  1. Go on a Tour

There are plenty of tours to be found in Krabi, but the one we’re talking about is the Krabi Four Islands Tour. As the name implies, this tour will bring you around four different islands. In other words, you’re going island hopping! The four islands that you’re going to visit is Koh Poda, Koh Kai, Koh Tub, and Koh Mor.

These islands mentioned are all near to each other, found within the Mu Koh Poda Archipelago. However, only Koh Tub and Koh Mor are connected to each other by a sandbar, visible from the ocean surface. In fact, this sandbar is the actual reason you want to visit this place. You can even walk on the sandbar to the islands, and it is a chance you should not miss it. In fact, the locals dubbed the sandbar “Talay Waek,” which translates to “sea divides.” This bridge is only available during low tide. At high tide, you won’t be able to see this sandbar at all.

All these islands boast stunning beaches with crystal-clear jade waters and a brilliantly sparkling white sand. Of course, who can forget the beautiful warm (or hot) sun to brighten up your day?

Ao Nang is the perfect place for you to bring yourself away from the cares of the world. It is the ideal chance for you to cut yourself from the typical city views and the bustling life found there and to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.
