While there are so many things you can do in Krabi, if you’re a cave lover, then you’re in the right place. Krabi has a myriad of caves you can explore, each promising a different adventure and experience. That said, you might be wondering which caves in Krabi you should be visiting. Here are three of them:
1. Kow Phung Cave
Have you heard of Khao Phanom Bencha National Park? While Kow Phung Cave is near the entrance to the park, it isn’t part of it. Much of the cave is in the dark, so you’ll need a source of light. If possible, get a headlamp so that you’ll have your hands free. Don’t forget backup batteries as well.
There are two ways you can enter the cave, the easiest one being near the walkway. You won’t have to pay any money to enter the cave either, so climb inside and explore! Inside, you’ll find its inhabitants—frogs, crickets, lizards, and so on. You’ll also discover lots of harmless bats. If you’re looking for a guide, though, you’ll find some people sitting outside willing to show you around for a small fee.
2. Lang Rongrian Cave
Lang Rongrian cave, if translated to English, literally means “behind the school cave.” That’s right, the cave is located right by a school and is famous for the fact that items and even bones were discovered there dating over thousands of years ago.
If you want to come to visit this historical place, you’ll need to drive past Wat Tum Sang Phet until you find a small school. Right before school, you’ll find a small road that’ll bring you to the cave. Don’t forget to bring your camera, as there’s plenty of photos to be taken here.
3. Diamond Cave Temple
We mentioned Wat Tum Sang Phet just a little earlier. It is a temple in which a cave resides.
To get to the actual cave, you’ll need to get to the temple first. The cave has light fixtures around it, so you don’t need a flashlight to explore the area. Upon reaching the cave, if you discover that it is pitched black, you can ask someone to switch the lights on. With it on, you can get in and start looking around. While you might be able to snap some photos, there might be some parts of the cave, especially the statues, that don’t want pictures to be taken, so take special care.

There are many more caves you can discover here in Krabi. While some might be “grander” than others, they are all worth the time to visit and explore. Just remember to carry a flashlight with you with some spare batteries, as well as your camera. You want to snap some fantastic photos to share on your social media or keep as a souvenir of your trip. One thing, though, don’t ever forget your mosquito repellant!
